Trek and camp amidst the shola-grasslands of the Western Ghats at Munnar and among the thick evergreen canopy of the Periyar Tiger reserve. At Munnar the trek will take you camping at altitudes of over 7000 feet. The terrain is mountainous with numerous streams criss-crossing your way and the views truly spectacular. .

You will also be trekking through the natural habitat of the Asiatic elephants, the endangered Nilgiri Tahr and gaur (Indian Bison)

Day 1: |
The trek starts after breakfast. The start point is 18 kms from Munnar. The trek from an altitude of 4500' gradually goes to over 8000’ and passes through sholas and mountain streams which criss-cross the area. Guides and porters will accompany. The area also has wildlife – notably elephants, sambar, tiger, sloth bear and Nilgiri tahr. The camp is set up at an altitude of approximately 7000'. Stay will be in comfortable Alpine tents. Good quality sleeping bags and sheets are also provided. In the month from November to February, temperatures here often go below freezing point and hence warm clothes are recommended. |
Day 2: |
After an early rise and breakfast, trek to Meesapulimala at over 8600 feet. Start descent and proceed to the base camp. Depart for Munnar. |

After an early rise, trek to the abandoned hut on Selva Malai for breakfast. Proceed to Meesapulimala at over 8600 feet. Start descent and proceed to Camp Malai. Reach for late lunch. Stay overnight at camp. Camp Fire.
